Macau Weather in July

Macau Weather in July

Weather: July is the hottest month of the year in Macau. There is an average high temperature of 32 °C (90 °F) and an average low temperature of 26 °C (79 °F).

It's humid and hot and usually sunny. It's the sunniest month of the year. It rains often, about half the days of the month. Macau gets 290 mm of rain each July. It is monsoon season, and sometimes there are tropical storms and typhoons.

Be aware that the territory's long bridges might close during the typhoons. Flights may also be cancelled during seriously bad weather. Stay informed on the weather to make sure that your trip goes smoothly.

Clothing: Summer cloths such as shorts, T-shirts, and summer skirts will do outside. Sunglasses and hats might prove a relief in the bright Macau glare of sunny days from all the light reflecting off of window glass and pavements.

Things to Do

July has the right kind of weather to go to a beach such as Heisha (or Hac Sa, 'Black Sand') Beach. July is a good time for swimming in Macau too. You can swim in the sea and walk on the beaches.

Shop and go to restaurants: Macau has duty free shopping, and you can shop for souvenirs, luxury goods, or investment products. See more about Macau shopping.

Take a stroll in the evening: During fine weather, the seafront areas, tourist streets, and casino resort areas are fascinating and colorful places to go for a walk and to get a little exercise. In particular, the area between the Venetian and the Galaxy, the streets around the Grand Lisboa, and the area of Senado Square are good for strolls. The seafront near Senado Square is fine for a walk at dusk also.

Walk around Senado Square: This fascinating colonial governing center looks quaint, and it is an interesting place to see with all the modern Chinese signage. You can walk from the base of the triangle shaped plaza along San Ma Lo Avenue to an old Catholic church building at the apex. Then continue past it to find a street filled with small shops. Check out the Chinese herb shops and find bargains on herbs for your health.

July is in the low travel season.

School lets out for summer vacation in July in Mainland China, so more family groups arrive. Room rates for hotel rooms and the price of lights and train tickets are lower than usual. To take advantage of the low season, let us help you to arrange and economize your trip.
